Terry for Overland Park

Terry is a life-long Overland Park resident. She and her husband, Steve, have been married for 39 years. Terry is a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary church, and attended Bishop Miege High School, Johnson County Community College as well as the University of Kansas.

Terry has a strong commitment to her community. She is, or has been, involved with the Downtown Development Review Board, the Drug and Alcoholism Council of Johnson County, the Community Development Block Grant Advisory Committee, Community Oriented Police program, Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA), and the Overland Park Citizen Police Academy. Terry has served as chair of the Legacy of Greenery Committee, on the Overland Park Planning Commission, and a graduate of Leadership Overland Park.

Terry was first appointed to Overland Park City council in 2001. She was elected in April 2003 to serve her first full term, and has served on the City Council since. In January 2019, Terry was elected Council president, and currently serves on the Community Development and the Finance, Administration and Economic Development committees.
