I was first appointed to Overland Park City Council to represent Ward 1 in 2001.
Ward 1 is rich in diversity and culture and I have seen a lot of changes in its fabric.
It has been exciting to see the growth in Downtown. I have worked to ensure that Ward 1 and our community is a place for all social economics to prosper and call home.
I am running for re-election because I am committed to continuing my efforts of making our ward and City a desirable place to live, work and raise a family.
I am a life-long resident of Overland Park and I am dedicated to serving Overland Park
And Ward 1. I have been involved in multiple boards and committees, such as the
Community Block Grant Advisory Board, Bike Trails Committee, OP citizens Police academy, Rental Licensing Committee and Leadership Overland Park to name a few.
My 18 years of service on council has given me insights and experience to help lead
the 2nd largest city in Kansas. I understand where we have been and see where we are currently. I have recently voted for a Nondiscrimination Ordinance in Overland Park which acknowledges the rights and dignity of all Overland Park Residents. With Affordable Housing being a concern in our city I had the opportunity to support a new affordable housing development of modest scale homes in Ward 1. And, my work to successfully implement a city-wide residential rental licensing and inspection program ensures that all of our residents can live in well maintained neighborhoods.
My experience and commitment will help ensure we are moving correctly to where we need to be as as a successful City. I will work to keep our mill level the lowest in Johnson County.
